It was difficult to find a controller on the market that combined both form and function. So, he decided to collaborate with Varmilo to create the “ultimate weapon for fighting games.”
Varmilo, a brand renowned for its high-end keyboards and celebrated in the industry as the “keyboard artist,” brought innovative design concepts to the table for this cross-disciplinary project.
In the early stages of development, the CEO of ふもっふのおみせ gathered both professional and amateur fighting game players from all over Japan to collect feedback. Their goal was to ensure that this controller not only met the market’s needs but also addressed long-standing issues with other controllers. Every detail, from size and weight to button numbers and layout, was meticulously considered and refined.
Beyond the basic functions, Varmilo leveraged its strong capabilities in both hardware and software to equip the controller with the latest Cherry Inductive switches. While the Rapid Trigger function is familiar in the keyboard community, it had never been seen in a game controller until now. These Inductive switches allow players to freely adjust the actuation and release points, giving them unparalleled control over precision. To make these functions even more intuitive, Varmilo even developed a web-based software—no download needed—allowing players to easily set up their controller and adjust the configurations seamlessly.
The name “FK2” holds significant meaning as well. In Japanese, “FK2” closely resembles the word “Fukutsu,” which translates to “indomitable.” This symbolizes the never-give-up spirit central to fighting games.
With its refined design, customizable actuation and release points, powerful RT functionality, and intuitive web-based software, FK2 becomes a fighting game controller that truly adapts to the player’s needs, helping them achieve optimal gameplay performance.
